SUMMARY:New Events
DESCRIPTION:In May\, local journalist Bret Christian will present a look at Skeptics and the media\, including a few entertaining personal anecdotes. Bret runs the independent Post newspaper\, an essential part of life in Perth’s western suburbs that is delivered each Saturday to all the area’s homes and businesses. Founded in 1977 by Bret (the current owner/editor) The Post is built on a strong tradition of quality journalism. It publishes accurate\, relevant news that affects readers where they live. Each issue of the paper is read thoroughly by a very high proportion of the population.\nBret says the evolution of skepticism and its influence on the wider community is very closely tied to Skeptics’ relationship with the media. “Skeptics and their search for truth have also powered the education of journalists\, including myself\,” he says.\nThere will be time for questions and discussion at the end. \nVenue is upstairs at Henry on Eighth Bar\, 49 Eighth Ave\, Maylands
