DESCRIPTION:The late James Randi is considered by many to be the most important figure in modern skepticism. He had a profound influence on the international skeptics’ movement.\nRandi investigated paranormal\, supernatural and pseudo-scientific claims and used his skills as a professional magician to expose faith healers\, psychics medical frauds and cult leaders. He also had a great sense of humour – described by some as “impish” – about it all. \nAt this meeting member David Johnson will look at Randi’s life and some of the investigations he undertook into paranormal claims. \nDrinks and food available at the venue.\nPlease bring a $2 coin donation to support the Meetup platform.\nNB this time I am bringing our own projector\, so we won’t have to wait for the other group to finish (hooray).
