DESCRIPTION:Climate change: why do we believe it’s happening and that we’re responsible? Is there any evidence to the contrary?\nFor the main part of the meeting we’ll listen to a podcast from ‘The Infinite Monkey Cage’ series on this topic*\, as well as considering some information from other sources\, including an examination of what ‘climate change skeptics/deniers’ say and the counter-arguments.\nMembers who have information they’d like to share on the topic – and everyone is encouraged to contribute – should bring it on a thumb drive.\n*Prof Brian Cox & Robin Ince are joined by Dara O’Briain\, Prof Tony Ryan & Dr Gabrielle Walker to discuss the ever-hot topic of climate change. They take a forensic look at the evidence that the climate is indeed changing\, how we know that we are responsible\, and what can be done to stop it. The scientific willingness may be there\, but is the political will finally catching up? \nVenue: Henry on Eighth Bar\, 49 Eighth Ave\, Maylands \nMeet upstairs at 7pm for drinks & food (order downstairs)\, for a 7.30pm start. \nMembers are encouraged to support the cost of the Meetup site by donating a gold coin.
